About us and our old house

It was the year 2005, and Ross and I came out to Tillamook for a weekend getaway.  We stayed at the lovely Shilo Inn, which really is affordable excellence.  We toured the Cheese Factory and sampled some squeaky cheese, and thought to ourselves, who in the hell would move here ON PURPOSE!  And we went home, thankful to be free of the pestilent odor of cow manure.

Well, we just couldn't get enough of that squeaky cheese, and in 2006 we moved to the Land of Cheese, Trees and Ocean Breeze.  No really, there is a sign that says that when you arrive in Tillamook.  I'm not making that up.  Anyway, we wanted to buy a house and fix it up ourselves.  How hard could it be, really?  I mean, it's not like there have been thousands of DIY nightmare stories that have started with those very words or anything.  Oh wait...

Actually, and I realize I'm poking at the gods of fate with a big stick when I say this, we've done pretty well so far.  I've gotten rather used to having construction materials perpetually stationed in my living room.  It just wouldn't feel like home anymore if I didn't have to step over some power tool or stack of lumber just to get to the kitchen!

We created this website to keep friends and family up to date on our various undertakings.  So feel free to come on in and look around.  And if you like what you see, leave a comment!  We'd love to hear from you!  But please keep your Mean and Nasties to yourself.  We have feelings too, you know.
